About Us

Blossoms Day Nurseries are purpose built settings based in the village of Hambleton and Burn offering a spacious and stimulating environment indoors and outdoors.

Blossoms is owned and managed by Melissa and Rachel who have a real passion for proving high-quality childcare. Both Melissa and Rachel have had years of experience working with children across all age ranges, working for outstanding and award-winning day nurseries. Melissa who holds her BA Honours in early years, focuses on the practice and ensures outstanding childcare is being modelled and provided whilst Rachel who holds her CIPD, focuses on the policies and procedures that underpin the practice and operations.

We aim to provide a rich learning environment empowering children to develop to his or her full potential. We provide a safe, secure, loving and stimulating environment and will encourage children to be confident, independent and to develop their self-esteem.

The Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (EYFS) outlines the standards for learning development and care for every child in England from the age of 0-5. We use Birth to 5 Matters as our curriculum, to deliver education and care within the framework. The age ranges within the Birth to 5 Matters are overlapping to show the varied rates of learning and development and emphasise that children do not develop at a uniform rate and assessments are created to make sure children are developing well, supporting their key person to plan effectively.

We believe the relationship between a key person and families gives you the opportunity to share your child’s successes, struggles and milestones with someone you know is fully committed to working with you and your family.

We believe the outdoor environment enables children to not only develop their skills and move in a large space, but also allows the children to learn and explore in the natural environment. We take every opportunity to access our outdoor provision, following children’s interests, learning through their play.
