Welcome to Blossoms Day Nursery
Our Mission Statement
‘Quality is our Reality’
To achieve our vision, we follow our mission acronym ‘FLOURISH‘. Here at Blossoms, we believe each part of our mission comes together to achieve the highest standard of quality childcare that all children deserve to experience.
What does FLOURISH stand for?
Families
Families are ‘children’s first and most enduring educators’. We view parents as our essential partners. As making partnerships with parents/carers is essential for Early Years Educators to plan effectively for a child’s learning experiences.
Leadership
Leadership requires you to develop, support, encourage and motivate a staff team, as well as model a high standard of practice, knowledge and care. We inspire our team, as well as motivating them to be the best that they can be, try new ideas and work hard.
‘A leader is one who knows the way, shows the way and goes the way’- John Maxwell
Opportunities
Through play experiences, children develop language skills, their emotions and creativity, social and intellectual skills. Play takes place indoors and outdoors and it is in these different environments that children explore and discover their immediate worlds. We allow children to practice new ideas and skills, they take risks, show imagination and solve problems.
Unique
Every child is a unique child, who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured.
Babies and young children mature in every area of development at their own pace and in their own individual ways. Inclusion means that individuals and communities are valued, and no child or family is discriminated against. We take delight in every new skill a child acquires, in every new achievement they make. We value each child for their uniqueness.
Reggio Emilia
The Reggio Emilia belief is that all children are capable, creative and intelligent. Allowing children to express themselves is key, to show their understanding, learning and thinking, which is why expressive arts is one of the most important elements of the Reggio Emilia approach. We adopt the Reggio Emilia approach into the way we provide our practice, we really love the ethos, as well as the power and freedom it gives the children.
Inspirational
Our inspiring Early Years Educators strive to spark motivation in all children in a way that spurs achievement and stimulates success. An Early Years Educator with the ability to inspire children is the type of educator who will be long remembered. Inspiring children is integral to ensuring their success and encouraging them to fulfil their potential. Children who are inspired by their teachers can accomplish amazing things, and that motivation almost always stays with them.
Stimulation
From birth, a baby demonstrates the desire to learn. They want to make sense of the world around them. Children deliberately seek out new challenges and learning opportunities at every stage. This innate drive to seek stimulation is wonderful and with the support and guidance from Early Years Educators, children achieve so much more, enhancing and extending natural curiosity.
Health
We view ‘a healthy start’ in its broadest possible sense, adapting a holistic approach which focuses on the things that have a real impact in later life. This includes supporting breastfeeding, improving nutrition, emotional wellbeing, parenting skills, healthy nutrition, oral health and a more active lifestyle.
