Welcome to Blossoms Day Nursery
Parent Partnership
We view parents as our essential partners, sharing your views and observations about your child’s development and interests all provide the opportunity to learn about children’s learning, in the setting and at home. We encourage parents to be involved in planning to support our Early Years Educators to plan for effective learning at Blossoms and helps support learning development at home.
At the end of every term, parents are sent through an in-depth assessment (Formative Report) on our app. Parents/carers are invited to come into the setting, to discuss the report in more detail, working together to plan next steps. This is a great opportunity to discuss your child’s development in more detail, with their key person.
“The Reggio Emilia approach fosters a deep sense of community and collaboration, involving parents, teachers, and children in the learning process.”

Meet and Greet Day
Twice a year we hold a ‘Meet and Greet Day’ where parents/carers and their families are all welcomed in on a Saturday morning to experience a short part of their child’s day in nursery, enjoying a morning snack together and taking part in our ‘Sing and Sign’ or ‘Wake Up, Shake Up’ sessions.
It is also a lovely opportunity to meet other families, finding out more about the friends your child/ren loves to play with.

Parent Partnership Station
Our Parent Partnership Station is based in reception at both our settings and is changed weekly, linking to current celebrations and interests. Continuing rich learning experiences at home, for the whole family to enjoy.
As well as home learning activities, the station also provides interesting information leaflets that parent/carers will find useful, such as; factsheets, activity ideas for home, ‘Parent Speech Bubbles’ to gain regular feedback with a question of the term on and our Monthly Newsletter.

Birth to 5 Matters
The Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (EYFS) outlines the standards for learning development and care for every child in England from the age of 0-5. We use Birth to 5 Matters as our curriculum, to deliver education and care within the framework.
For each Area of Development, children are based within ages ranges. The age ranges are overlapping to show the varied rates of learning and development and emphasise that children do not develop at a uniform rate and assessments are created to make sure your child is developing well and to help their key person plan effectively.
