Welcome to Blossoms Day Nursery
Extracurricular Activities
Extra-curricular activities are activities that children can participate in, outside of the normal learning environment.
These activities are beyond the standard curriculum and are designed to be enjoyable and beneficial for children, enhancing learning experiences. At Blossoms we are continuously looking for new experiences for the children to enjoy, arranging sessions on different days to ensure all children can benefit from the extra-curricular activities

Little Play Dreamers
One Wednesday morning a month, we enjoy a world of imagination with Amelia at Little Play Dreamers. Her sessions are always fun, active and extremely engaging for all children to enjoy. The children show great confidence sharing ideas, joining in games and submerging into relaxation time to finish off these fantastic sessions.

French Lessons
Our preschool children take part in weekly French lessons! Viviane from Kidslingo French, comes in every Tuesday/Friday morning, term time only.
The children learn the welcome song, talk about how they are feeling and learn some basic French words. The session is rounded off with the goodbye song and lots of parachute fun.
Learning a new language provides young children with a range of cognitive, social, and emotional benefits that contribute to their overall mental health and well-being. Early childhood is the key period to start language learning.

ZooLab
We had a special visit from ZooLab, providing a Rainforest experience!
Linking with National Rainforest Week, the children in all rooms got to experience some different animals found in the rainforest. We held snails, a stick insect and a snake! Along with watching how the frog jumps and cockroaches climb the walls… it was such a fascinating, exciting session!
What will they bring next time?…

Yorkshire Muddings
In celebration of National Outdoor Play Week, Yorkshire Muddings came to Blossoms!
We had a lovely few days at both our settings, enjoying sessions from Katie at Yorkshire Muddings. Together we created nests using clay and other natural objects, threaded with dandelions, ordered pine cones by size and enjoyed mud painting.
The children loved the fire pit the most, making s’mores! This was a fantastic experience and the children all followed fire safety brilliantly. They particularly enjoyed eating their s’mores for snack- staff included!
